Good Morning Undecided Voters,
What you need to know today:
If Big Brother were the type to make unwise prognostications, it would be time to prepare to call the market bottom. For the last year you have watched as pundits hedged that the worst may be over and the upturn is coming. In the last two weeks no one has dared make such a prediction. The fact that anyone was making optimistic statements about the market future was actually the surest sign that you had not seen the worst. Big Brother told Baron Rothschild all those years ago: “The best time to buy is when there is blood in the streets, even if the blood is your own.”
Big Brother may control wealth in excess of most of the world’ s smaller economies (combined), but also manages a whit of care for the economic well-being of the soul who gives The Maybach a fresh coat of carnauba every morning. So does John McCain, last night in the Presidential debate, he promised the government would buy your house, but only if you had overpaid for it (that means most of you). He did not say if he would cover Big Brother’s investment in LEH.
Someone You Should Know Today:
Paul Newman (b. 1925, d. 2008), American film actor best known for his blue eyes and rebellious streak. He parlayed his fame into a successful food company and sold millions of bottles of salad dressing, but foolishly donated all the profit to charities that support Hollywood lefty causes like helping sick children and treating drug addiction. Giving away almost a quarter billion dollars meant he could never beat Oprah on Forbes list of richest celebrities.
Today’s Sports:
With the first round of the MLB playoffs already decided, there were no major sporting events last night. Big Brother tried to place a bet on who would win the Presidential debate but no one would take the action.
Today’s Gossip:
Last night in Malibu, Actor Nick Nolte jumped out of the window when an overturned hookah set his house on fire. He was unhurt but there was $3 million damage. John McCain offered to buy Nolte’s mortgage and re-set it to the new value of the house.
Read a Book:
Security Analysis: Original 1940 Edition by Benjamin Graham. It might be a good time to review your old finance textbook.
That is All,
Big Brother
