What you need to know today:
Last night the U.S. Senate passed a modified version of the bailout bill that failed in the House on Monday. It goes back to the House tomorrow in modified form where if Nancy Pelosi keeps her mouth shut, and House Republicans do not find an excuse not to vote for it, it will hopefully pass. If it fails to pass, do not bother coming into work Monday, no one will be able to pay you. You can stop calling your congressman now and complaining about bailing out greedy Wall Street Fat Cats. The problem is much bigger than that, you might not understand it now but you will if the bill fails and you are all forced to shop for dinner in the pet food aisle.
Someone you need to know today:
Was on Charlie Rose last night, but since you were watching the America’s Got Talent finale you probably did not see it. Warren Buffett, who has earned more in his lifetime than you could in a million of yours, put the blame firmly on the housing bubble which you created and the breakdown of risk assessment by almost every major financial institution in the world (this was not necessarily you fault but you contributed). He called this an economic Pearl Harbor, we cannot spend a lot of time wondering who left the battleships in port, we have to rally the rest of the fleet and confront this problem, NOW!
Toy manufacturers and sellers think this will still be a big Holiday season. Hope springs eternal.

Baseball playoff started yesterday, but I’m not going to tell you who won. You have bigger things to worry about.
Today’s Gossip:
What did I tell you! Get off TMZ and perezhilton.com and call your Congressman, tell him to support the bailout or you will all eat dog food!
